Presentation about UI design for students

UI Design Presentation

This is a lecture on user interface design given to second and third year design school students. My goal was to introduce students to the concepts of usability and how good design and work discipline translate into working in this particular design field.

I have uploaded this as a powerpoint because the speaker's notes contain real substance and go far to explain my approach to interface design.

Award winning music studio had a site that did not attract new students. I worked extensively with the owner who didn't want "dull pictures of piano keys" but rather something "elegant".

The studio also specializes in many kinds of musical training so we decided on less literal images that spoke to ideas of structure and harmony in nature.

Onyango Oketch

Onyango Oketch, Artist

Site for an incredibly talented Kenyan sculptor. He had a basic idea of the colors and titles and lots of photos of art.

I worked the images into a structure that I felt also spoke to the nature of his work, which has many elements inter-layered and pressed together.
